Let’s face it, a vacation to Disney is a big investment and if you don’t take the time to know how the massive world of Disney works, you can be in for a shock. If the idea of planning things out months in advance and researching for hours leaves you in a less than magical mood, I have some great news for you!
You don’t have to do it all by yourself! Sure, you can try and wing it, but let me tell you, that will lead to a less than stellar trip and you probably won’t be returning anytime soon. All of Disney’s resorts and cruise ships are enormous and offer hundreds of unique experiences, but without some pre-planning, most of them are either fully booked or hard to locate if you wait until you arrive to plan your itinerary.
That’s where my simple tip comes in. You don’t have to do the planning! If the thought of color-coded spread sheets and six month out reservations makes you lose your love of the Mouse, have no fear. You don’t have to do it alone!
Whether you’re thinking about a Disney cruise, a trip to Walt Disney World or a California getaway to Disneyland, travel agents specializing in Disney Destinations can help take all of the planning off your plate and give you a customized experience. I recently spoke with Amanda Mann, owner of Living With The Magic Vacations about why using a travel agent is such a great idea.
Tell us a bit about how you developed your love of Disney?
It all started when I was 8 years old and found a biography of Walt Disney. I fell in love with the Disney company. My family didn’t take trips to Disney and I didn’t even visit until I was 18, but by then I was totally hooked. I spent two semesters in college working at Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios and then found myself as manager of a local Disney store. Disney is my escape from the real world and where I can totally unplug and connect with family. I’ve been working for 7 years as an agent and have owned Living With The Magic Vacations for 2 years. I live in Virginia with my husband and two girls and try to get to Disney World at least twice a year. We’re also getting ready for our sixth Disney cruise this summer in Alaska.
What do you love most about Disney vacations?
The service is unbelievable. The quality of everything is so outstanding and no matter where we travel as a family we know that the level of service we receive will be 100%. I love that it gives me a chance to be a different person and not have to focus on all the responsibilities at home.
Why does using a Travel Agent that specializes in Disney Destination make such a difference?
When you book directly through Disney, you’re using a call center and while they will be helpful, they don’t always know you or your family. A personal Disney Planner makes sure you get the customized level of service that you want and that when you have questions you can get tailored responses that fit your specific travel needs. We can also save you money by making sure we get the best discounts and best dining reservations.
What can clients expect when they book with Living With The Magic Vacations?
Planning a Disney trip is a lot of work and can be very overwhelming, especially if it’s your first trip or you haven’t been in a while. Our agents are all specifically trained to walk through a multi-step planning process with you to know exactly what you’d like to do and what your family wants. We take care of making all the reservations and about a month before we can walk you through a step-by-step daily itinerary that’s custom-made just for you. We keep up with all the new things that are happening at the Parks and you can relax knowing that you don’t have to worry about any of it. From honeymoons to multi-family trips, we want to make sure that you get the perfect Disney experience.
Why is this year such a great year to take a trip to Disney World?
There are so many amazing new attractions opening. Animal Kingdom is expanding its nighttime offerings and opening the new land of Pandora. Several resorts are expanding and offering brand new options for lodging. And Disney Springs, the reimagined shopping and entertainment district, is full of new restaurants. It’s a great year to visit Walt Disney World.
One of my favorite things about Living With The Magic Vacations is their unique offerings for special trips. Amanda has planned two incredible getaways for Disney-lovers this year. In April, grab your girlfriends and join up with others for a Girls Getaway Weekend.
There are discounted tickets and room rates and even exclusive special events like a 1st morning ride on Soarin’ followed by a private breakfast with mimosa bar in Epcot’s France! Everything is customizable, so you really can make the trip into your perfect escape. Hurry, the deadline for this trip is March 15th! (Update: Plans are in the works for a 2018 trip so make sure you visit Living with the Magic Vacations for more info).
Amanda’s doing the same thing for families in October with a Magical Fall Weekend that features more special events like a costume contest during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. If you’re a regular Disney goer like me, these one of kind experiences are what make each trip so special. In talking with Amanda, her love of Disney is so obvious and I can see how she works incredibly hard to make sure others feel that when they visit.
